Founded in 2006, Connecticut Haitian Voice is a free monthly newspaper written in English, Haitian Creole and French. The Connecticut Haitian Voice prioritizes information that serves the Haitian-American population as well as conveys a message of pride, unity, tolerance, resilience and responsible leadership.

Our influence has been largely documented by national and local news organizations such as The Associated Press, Connecticut Post, The Stamford Advocate and The Norwich Bulletin.

The Connecticut Haitian Voice made history in December 2010 by becoming the first newspaper that is distributed free of charge in Haiti, where a subscription to a print publication is considered a luxury.

Stamford, CT.- The oldest Haitian television show in Connecticut, HTN, will organize a concert on May 18 to celebrate the 210th anniversary of the Haitian flag,
This event will feature guest speaker Reginald Souffrant – a New York-based educator; performing artists such as La Troupe Paul El Sadate; Troupe Fleur Noire (Black Flower); singer Valery Bouilly, award-winning poet Jeanie Bogart, two local church choirs and a Polish dance group, among many other entertainers.

Artists for Flag Day
“ The goal of this concert is to promote unity within the Haitian community” explained Emmanuel Doreste, the producer of  HTN. “ We need to join hands together and blend our resources for we can move forward as a people. Our flag was born from that urgency, and that what makes May 18 so relevant today”, added Doreste.
Haitian Americans of all spectrums find plenty of reasons to be proud of their heritage and their substantial contributions to the American Society. Throughout May Haitians everywhere in the United States will hold activities that highlight their rich history, inspiring accomplishments as well as their continuing struggles and longings.
In Connecticut, the defunct Haitian Community Center, Sosyete Koukouy and Ferguson Library South End Branch are the pioneers of this trend that asserts through arts the pride and hope of an improved Haiti and its diaspora.
The concert will take place at 7pm at Yerwood Center, 90 Fairfield Avenue, Stamford, CT. For more information, please email Haitian Television Network (HTN) at haitiantvnet@gmail.com or call (203) 550-1583.
